Its 2020! Happy New Year from EV Photo Pro Lab
/Happy New Year again from our family to yours and from our beautiful part of the world at Kingscliff on the Tweed Coast - Northern NSW. We are excited for 2020 and creating many amazing projects for you all.
We knew 2019 had to be a big year of refreshing all things online for our business and we launched our new website in the first week of January. It was always going to be a Stage 1 and our goal this year will be to grow this to a place of information that adds value to both our retail and professional clients. Any areas you would love more information on please let us know and we will try and cover these.
2019 also ended up being time to refresh a lot of things!
NEW LARGE FORMAT 64” PRINTER
We welcomed our new 64 inch Epson Large Format Printer. The 44 had really pushed hard to keep up so it was a needed upgrade to the EV family and deciding to jump to the 64 inch means we can service a lot of jobs that we previously had to turn down. So get creative with your larger work… Tristam loooooves loading those huge rolls haha!
NEW PRICELIST FOR NEW PRODUCTS
With this change brought a price list update to include new products and services. The Studio Essential Frame range has been popular in 2019 as a consistent Black and White frame option for our clients. Our long time relationship with providing a range of beautiful Oak options continued along with a custom service for one off or specialty frames through to exhibition collections. While we have provided a high end Oak Canvas Framing option for many years, we now offer many colours in a new more cost effective range.
NEW SMALL FORMAT AND SCANNER
An upgrade to a new small format machine was thrown in there too. Again a little bit of a forced addition after crazy print numbers and these necessary big purchases seemed to continue through the year with us also adding a new high end scanner back to our Epson family. Some technology we didn’t replace as our industry changed and it reached its life and we took scanning off our service offering but its back! It really is such an important thing to be able to digitize your memories and we would love to assist you with this. Hopefully this makes our little Epson collection happy and new for the new decade!
NEW APP FOR PRINTING FROM YOUR PHONE
With the increase of clients finding printing photos from their phones a difficult task that they wished they did, but never got around to, we joined forces with Local Prints Now to bring you an easy app to turn your phone pics into prints. Far too often we are hearing people lose all these precious memories and realizing they didn’t have many events on their digital camera back ups. Check out the retail section on our website for the link to download!
PLANET ARK BOX
We are passionate about doing what we can for the environment such as reducing waste, sorting our waste religiously, reusing anything we can through preschools for craft and we now have a Planet Ark Box so you can drop your used print cartridges here for effective recycling.
AWARD & EXHIBITION PRINTING
As always, we are passionate about award printing and print making for exhibitions. In 2020 we hope to blog more content and helpful information but also shout out amazing artists and what they have going on and those who have been awarded. 2019 in Queensland AIPP awards alone we printed many awarded images including the Highest Scoring Print, QLD Professional Photographer of the Year, QLD Travel Photographer of the Year, QLD Print Handlers Award and 5 Category Finalists. So awesome to be able to offer a professional service to these amazing photographers.
TRISTAM EXHIBITED
It had been a while since we have had a sole or collective exhibition and in 2019 along with Matt Barwick and Justin Ealand “NATURAL-An Exhibition” was created and delivered to Kingscliff Community Hall for a single night of much needed arts infusion into our local community. I think this is worthy of its own post so will leave it at a >>> To Be Continued status…
COMMUNITY
On the note of community… we support where ever we can in our local community whether its capturing images and supporting our local SLSC, donating to our local schools or supporting charities. While we come out the other side of family events that have affected us financially, cash donations aren’t really our thing right now but we believe in giving back. Our nation is burning and when local restaurant Fins and Fins Plantation House created an event to support bushfire victims we knew we had to step up and help. Tristam donated a limited edition fine art framed print that contributed $1000 to this evening and we wish there was so much more we could do both for fires and for our drought stricken country.
